Finally finished Lizs’ letters

OK so I finally got started on my daughters name today.  Altering the paper mache letters and frame.  I am putting them above the kitchen cabinets as deco.  So anyway, I was going to use scrapbook paper on the fronts and decided to just paint them and stamp them.  So I painted them all red and stamped them with linen colored paint, then I used a stampin sponge and some stampin up ink Close to Cocoa and dabbed all over the letters with it, also I rubbed along all the edges with it.  I then added some pinkish red wire and wrapped different places on each letter.  I did something different for each letter to which I will explain below the pics.  dsc02300

dsc02302

the only thing I did in this was add some ribbon

dsc02303

if you look close you can see 4 of the butterfly have pearls on them.  Just used some glue and some tiny pearl like beads

dsc02304

I added the flower tag to the top left, used stampin up markers and stamp.  Some acid free paper and a few different punches from stampin up

dsc02301

here I painted the whole frame in linen and just did a few pieces in red, which by the way is not bright even though the pic shows it is,  did the sponge thing here to, also stamped with the red paint Priceless.  All the stamps I used were from the Priceless stamp set from Stampin Up.  Now I just have 2 more names to go yeah!

stampin up class

Here are some pages I was going to do in a class that never happend.  By the way don’t ever buy the snail adhesive it is so crappy.  My stuff never stays on after a day or so.  I am always having to fix my scrap pages because of that stuff.

dsc02257

This is a fall page all the pics were taken in KY.

dsc02258

Another fall page, these pics are from right after eli was born at thanksgiving.

In other news I am working on the project I wrote about with the frames.  I have painted one name and am altering the letters right now.  I also started painting one of the frames today.  When I am done this set I will post it.

some favs from elizabeths scrapbook

dsc02254

I loved the pic of her foot prints in the snow so i used a foot print punch and punched some sticker vellum.

dsc02253

This one I like because I used all recycled stuff.  Tissue paper for the pic backgrounds, i know its not acid free but it looks cute, and the middle was taken from a christmas card.

dsc02252

I don’t know why this one is a fav, probably because liz looks so cute.  The bottom left was all recycled from a christmas card.

dsc02255

This is one I really love.  I saw a mosaic scrap idea in a magazine and used it here.  Just took a few pics from the same place and pieced them all togther.

dsc02256

This page was done while I was a stampin up demo.  The upper right pic is actually a 6×6 page I demoed at a party, I got the other ideas from splitcoaststampers.com which is where all stampin up demos get there ideas.

baby shower

I am going to a baby shower tomorrow so I made this card.  I saw a lot of examples on splitcoaststampers.com  and thought it was cool.  There is a girl who has the how to on her website so I followed it. Takes like 5 min to make.  I used all stampin up stuff to make it.  I am giving money,  so the card had to be good, lol.

Elijahs’ Baby Book

I haven’t been up to anything since last post, but I have been cleaning my scrap room up.  I went through my kids scrapbooks and decided I would post some of them.  I haven’t worked on them in about a year and a half.  This one is of Eli, I decided to make him a baby book instead of buy one.  I used a lot of things like bags, cards, balloons, ribbons that I recieved from people to decorate these pages.

dsc02241

The pic above was meant to be embarrassing.  I was hoping to show this to his girlfriend one day, lol.

dsc02243

some ultra sound pics and me at the hospital getting ready to have him.

dsc02244

above my dad and liz looking at eli in the nursery. I used mostly decor that I cut off of bags on this page.

dsc02245

my parents and liz holding the baby

dsc02246

both of my sisters and my brother in law with eli.  This page was actually 1 side of a bag.

dsc02247

this was the baby shower page.  Has the people who came, all the gifts I recieved and a very nice card that Sheri made, signed by all the girls there.

dsc02248

this  page has a lot of info like height and weight, illnesses, current events, and a pic of Brad and the kids.

dsc02249

Made Elijahs family tree, copied this idea from Lizs’ baby book.

dsc02250

this page was of pics from my parents 25th wedding ann.  shown here is my mother, my dad, my brother, and my step grandpa and his girl friend.

dsc02251

this page is from the same occasion, people pictured me, my husband, the kids and my aunt shelley and my cousin shay.  I used deflated balloons behind the pics.    Hopefully I will get to start working on these again soon, I am way behind.

tape dispenser

dsc02235This is a tape dispenser that I bought at Joanns a couple years ago, and it has 4 different kinds of colored tape all acid free.  I got it on clearance.  I have only used it maybe 2 times.  I found out it is reusable.  Just thought I would show you (Sheri), and who ever else wants to see.  dsc02234

future project

Sheri I saw your messy craft table so I wanted to show you mine. This is how it is most of the time. I haven’t  touched it since Christmas.  Brad gets really annoyed about it because it is attached to the computer desk and all my stuff stats to head in that direction. lol  So don’t feel bad Sheri, we are equally as messy.dsc02230

dsc02231

also I wanted to show you, Sheri where I put your painting. Below is a pic of my living room.  Unfortunatley the pic made the painting really bright, but I love it and it goes perfectly in there.  I still need to frame it though.dsc02232

ok so on to the future.  I have been wanting to decorate above my kitchen cabinets, and didn’t know what to do.  So I finally decided I am going to alter some paper mache letters that all spell out my kids names, and put them on top.  I bought 5 picture frames that are white wash i guess, and they are pictured below.  I am going to have brad saw off the tube you see the circle on and glue the pieces back together.  Put one of those frames by each of the kids names with there pic in it of course.  I bought 2 extra frames incase I wanted to do Brad and my names and pics, or incase we had any more kids.  I plan to paint my kitchen a light blue grey so the white wash will stand out more after that is done.  dsc02233

christmas scrapbook

So 3 Christmas’ ago I got an idea that I would make a scrapbook for all the kids in the family including myself, which would be 4 scrapbooks.  So I got pics from all my family members and had wallet sized pics printed out at walmart.  I worked on it in 2006 and I worked on it this year.  I am still catching up I think it will take another 2 years to be up to date.  Mostly because I have to make 4 identical pages.  It is kind of a bother right now, but I am sure when I get caught up I will enjoy it more.  So here are some pics of that.

dsc02220

This is the cover.  It is a pioneer scrapbook, those are my favorites.  I to the Merry Christmas stamp and used versmark ink and stamped on the cover.  I then embossed with gold powder and there it is.dsc02221

This is a page I made in 2006 the first page in the book.  These pictures are of my dad.dsc02222

These are of my mom and her brothers and sisters.  Also done in 2006.dsc02223

To the left my dad when he was a teenages and his family, and to the right my siser Jamie and my dads family.  Also done in 2006.dsc02224

To the left my sister Jamie, my parents and me, done in 2006.  To the right my parents and me and my sister Julie.  I did this page in 2008.dsc02225

Both of these pages were done in 2008, just me and my sis and my parents.dsc02226

These pages were done in 2008.  My baby brother arrived, me my sis are in there to.dsc02227

We went skiing and stayed in a cabin one Christmas. The left page I did in 2006, and the right in 2008.  The one on the right was the last page I did this past year and I am not so proud of it, I think I was just tired of it by then.dsc02228

Both pages done in 2006.  This was the year I met and married Brad my husband.  My parents my sis Jamie and my brother  are in these pics.dsc02229

These were the only pics I could find for the year 2003.  They are from my sister Jamie and her husband Chris. Pages done in 2006.

BLAN

I have this gigantic entertainments center because I have another place in my wall that needed to be filled it is like 10 feet long.  So we bought it and I put some flowers and candles and vases on it I got from Home Goods and Joanns, and thought that it needed something above the unit since the ceilings are 9 feet tall.  So I got this idea.  I bought 4 picture frames from Joanns, and some canvas paper and some more accrylic paint.  I also bought all 4 letters of our last name.  I painted on the canvas paper for rectangles in 4 different colors.  Then I stamped with versamark ink all over the page with my stampin up stamp.  I embossed it with silver powder.  Then I took a stampin up stampin sponge and a chocolate colored stamp pad and rubbed it all around the different colors where they meet and on the edges.  I took some caramel colored paper and did the sponge on that to.  I glued the sqare caramel paper to the center of the canvas paper so it looked like a diamond.  Then I sprayed it with matte sealer.  I painted the letters with black and brown to match the frame and sprayed them with sealer also. Then I glued them on the canvas paper in the center also.  Put it all on the frame and hung it up.

dsc02219

I did my whole living room in earth elements.

dsc02215

I had these finished about 4-5 months ago and I just got my husband to hang them today.  Crazy man!
